FIRST Annual Conference

July 15, 2009

The 21st Annual Conference of the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams was held June 28 through July 3, in Kyoto, Japan. The event, which brings together incident response teams from all over the world, was hugely successful with a record attendance, highlighting the importance of incident response to the global community. The teams heard presentations from experts in the three conference tracks—technical, management, and incident response—and engaged in a number of special interest interactive groups.

Amid a host of interesting and informative speakers were keynote addresses from the following individuals:

• Bruce Schneier, Chief Security Technology Officer, BT, UK and well-known author on IT security
• Suguru Yamaguchi, JPCERT and Advisor on Information Security, National Information Security Center, Cabinet Office Japan
• Ray Stanton, Global Head, Business Continuity, Security and Governance Practice, BT, UK
